Soğuk Thai Çayı

Cold Thai Tea

Materials

  • 4 cups of boiling water
  • 2 tea bags or 2 teaspoons, London Black Tea
  • Juice of 1 fresh lime or lemon
  • Optional 1-2 whole cloves, 1 green cardamom peel, 1 star anise, 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or sweetener, optional
  • pinch of salt to garnish
  • Optional 1 cup condensed milk or coconut milk
  • Ice

How is it prepared

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan. Add 2 teaspoons of tea or tea bags. While adding the other ingredients, boil for at least 5-6 minutes, stirring.
  2. Squeeze the lime or lemon. Add salt and any seasonings you want. Continue boiling for 5 minutes.
  3. Add sugar or sweetener to your taste, adding 1-2 tablespoons of sugar until you reach your desired sweetness level.
  4. If you are using tea bags, press down on the rim of the bowl using a spoon before removing them to remove as much of the tea as possible. If you are using clear tea, strain the tea as you transfer it into a pitcher. Store in the refrigerator until it cools down.
  5. Pour into glasses and add ice if desired. If adding milk, fill 2/3 to 3/4 of the glass with tea and top with milk, cream or coconut milk. Bon Appetit.
